What We Can Achieve with as a Prospect Research Analyst Together

As a Prospect Research Analyst at TNC, you will play a key role in advancing our strategic priorities by supporting the Latin America Development team. Your main focus will be on prospect research, identification, and analysis. You will be held responsible for creating detailed donor profiles and uncovering new and existing donors who are vital to funding our work in Latin America. Your ability to distill and convey information in a targeted and compelling way will be essential for Development leadership and other Conservancy staff.

You will work closely with stakeholders and may even serve as the lead liaison with partners. Analyzing and prioritizing donor pools, mapping donor characteristics, and aligning them with TNC’s priorities will be a critical part of your role. Additionally, you’ll provide recommendations and targeted training to your team. Your advanced knowledge of the systems and resources we use will help you support and coordinate programmatic efforts effectively.

Beyond your core responsibilities, you may also take on additional duties such as training, developing documentation, and enhancing the tools and systems used by the team. Staying updated on market trends and best practices will allow you to continually improve our services and processes.

Responsibilities & Scope for Prospect Research Analyst

  • Independent Decision-Making: Work independently within broad program goals to prioritize tasks and solve problems.
  • Research Library Management: Maintain and update the research library and ensure that BBCRM accounts reflect the availability of research.
  • Profile Preparation: Prepare profiles, spheres of influence (SOI), and topic research to support donor identification and cultivation.
  • Data Support: Provide data to enhance prospect and suspect strategies, and participate in strategy calls as needed.
  • Event and Grant Identification: Identify network events for the team to attend with a fundraising perspective and explore grant opportunities for the team’s portfolio.
  • Report and Analysis Creation: Build reports, conduct analysis, and perform research to support the U.S. engagement strategy.
  • Global Collaboration: Engage with U.S. and Global Prospect Research teams to align best practices and share information.
  • Confidentiality and Compliance: Handle confidential information with sensitivity and ensure compliance with TNC policies, donor requirements, and legal regulations.
  • Client Relationship Management: Manage relationships with clients and follow up on projects, ensuring accountability and adherence to timelines.
  • Project Participation: Provide input on project teams for developing and implementing new initiatives or improving existing programs.
  • Travel and Overtime: Be prepared to travel occasionally and work overtime as needed.
  • Work Environment: Expect a diversified work environment with minimal exposure to disagreeable elements and minor physical exertion.

What Requirements needs for Prospect Research Analyst

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree and 2 – years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Data Analysis: Experience generating reports and analyzing data.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience working across departments and with cross-functional teams.
  • Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with current technology in prospect research.
  • Research Skills: Experience or training in the principles and practices of prospect research and management.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English and Portuguese or Spanish.

Desired Qualifications Required to be a Prospect Research Analyst

  • Multilingual and Multicultural Experience: Skills in multiple languages and experience in multicultural or cross-cultural settings.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze information for planning and problem-solving.
